Check out the really cool website called Aircraft of the Future. It has artist’s renderings and other concept projections of imaginative designs for future aircraft. The ingenuity and the artistry – featuring sweeping curves and dramatic, functional designs. The aircraft are beautiful as well as multifunctional.
The designs include a seaplane-convertible sailing yacht, a sailboat-convertible seaplane, large capacity interurban aerial transport, “Flagellum oscillator” – billed as “Alternate solution to traditional propulsion system” and – what is sure to be a favorite: Honeymoon space shuttle “Space Shuttle for a weightlessness honeymoon”, complete with bedroom pods which are to be placed in orbit and then return to earth via parachute.
All of the designs have multiple Flash Player-based renderings which are fascinating to view.
The designer does not wish his name and the name of his current employer stated, but the fact that he is a former colleague and describes himself as “an interior designer for a plane manufacturer in Toulouse,” provides a good clue regarding his employer, if not his name, which for this project he calls himself “Yelken Octuri”. He states, “Several concepts of futuristic, imaginary, science-fiction planes. You can call them what you want, the goal is to create dream planes. You can view the interior layout of some of these aircraft concepts.”
Go look at the designs on the Octuri Design web site. Click on the individual aircraft and a new page will open to multiple renderings.
Please come back and comment upon which is your favorite, and why.
