Northrop F-5N Tiger II. “A U.S. Navy Northrop F-5N Tiger II from composite fighter squadron VFC-111 Sundowners, an adversary squadron based at Naval Air Station Key West, Florida (USA). Note that the aircraft is a former Swiss F-5E, serial J-3051. The U.S. Navy purchased 36 low-hour F-5E/Fs from Switzerland in 2006. These were updated as F-5N/Fs with modernized avionics and other improved systems. J-3051 was originally given the USAF serial 76-1576, and now operates for the USN with this serial, which is non-standard for a USN aircraft bureau number (BuNo).”
