“Very Rare view of the world’s only...:

“Very Rare view of the world’s only ‘Dart-Stang’ at Canberra Airport in 1975. (She is fitted with F-86 Sabre droptanks.) The CA-18 Mk 21 Mustang, formerly RAAF A68-187, was owned by Hockey Treloar. He replaced the Rolls Royce Merlin engine with a Rolls Royce Dart (as used in Viscount airliners). The Modified Mustang failed to achieve Civil Certification, and she was later returned to Standard configuration and sold to USA. This aircraft was displayed in 2007 as a TF-51D, Reg NL50FS (Marked as TF-839) at Columbus- Rickenbacker International Airport, Columbus Ohio (KLCK). Low Res photo. Apologies for the quality of this 34 year old photo.”

Not a PA-48
