Beauty, mate: Indonesians arrive for Exercise 'Pitch Black'

Beauty, mate: Indonesians arrive for Exercise 'Pitch Black':
Strewth; what a great job by the Royal Australian Air Force to photograph this stunning formation of four Indonesian air force Sukhoi Su-27 and Su-30 fighters, flanked by two Boeing F/A-18A Hornets from its own 77 Sqn.
No, this wasn't an intercept, but the moment that 40% of Jakarta's Russian-supplied fighter fleet approached Darwin to take part in the six-nation Exercise 'Pitch Black'. Hosted by the RAAF and running between 27 July and 12 August, the manoeuvres are expected to draw up to 94 aircraft and 2,200 personnel from Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand and the USA.
Indonesia has five single-seat Su-27s and five twin-seat Su-30s in its inventory, as recorded in Flightglobal's MiliCAS database.
